If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Head Start program at Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership (EICAP) as a Family Advocate.
As a Head Start Family Advocate at our Head Start Rexburg Location, you will play a critical role in helping families navigate and access a range of services and resources to support their child's development and wellbeing.
You will work closely with families to identify their strengths, needs, and goals, and provide them with the tools and support they need to succeed.
Responsibilities: Build positive relationships with families, providing them with support, guidance, and advocacy to help them access resources and services that meet their needs.
Work collaboratively with the Head Start Staff to provide coordinated services and support to families, ensuring that all services are delivered in a family-centered and culturally responsive manner.
Engage in regular motivational communications with parents and children and provide educational, information, and support using home visits, parent meetings, and regular newsletters.
Operate as a liaison between classroom and home settings in the area of education and child development.
Requirements: High school diploma or Equivalency Degree (GED) Knowledge in Social Services or related work.
Obtain a Family Development Credential within 18 months of hire (EICAP covers cost) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build trust with families from diverse backgrounds.
Prefer minimum of two years' experience in family social services setting such as crisis intervention and providing training in self-help skills.
Prior home visiting experience preferred.
Working knowledge of basic teaching methods, medical disciplines and local community resources required.
Must have a valid Idaho Driver's License and proof of current auto insurance.
The ability to become CPR and First Aid certified through EICAP's training program.
Compensation: This is a full-time, position.
